Study Permits - Parax

There is an encouraging program by IRCC for international students to study in Canada, and as a result, have plans to attract and keep more international students. Programs such as the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program, the Off-Campus Work Permit, Co-op and Internship Programs, and the Canadian Experience Class allows students to both stay and work in Canada during or after their studies are completed.

In some situations, graduated students are eventually eligible to apply for permanent residency. Before applying for a study permit, you must have been accepted at a recognized school, university or college in Canada. Selecting the educational institution plays a very important role so you need to do It carefully to make sure it qualifies for your immigration goals.

Work and Study at the Same Time

Being a full-time student with a valid study permit, may allow you to work either on-campus or off-campus. If eligible to work off-campus, the maximum hours you can work per week is 20 hours during the school year.

But when school isn’t in session during your summer or winter breaks, you can work full-time. Normally you won't need a work permit. For certain cases, a Co-Op or other work permit is necessary.
