Post Graduation Work Permits - Parax

International graduates don't need to have a Canadian job offer at the time of application under the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program. They can obtain up to a three-year open work permit which allows them to work for any Canadian employer in any industry.

Although the program of study must be a minimum of two years for the graduate to be eligible to get the three year work permit; for programs less than two years but longer than eight months, the graduate can still obtain a work permit for the same duration as the program of study which can be up to two years depending on the program.

It should be noted that such a Post-Graduation Work Permit can only be used once in a lifetime. So obtaining one and returning to studies could be a waste of the one-time opportunity and is a big mistake.
