This immigration program is for qualified and skilled people. They can obtain permanent residency in Canada. Since this is a point based system, applicants are ranked by their points. Those who meet the threshold get invitations to apply under the program. Applicants get points based on their age, education level, skilled work experience and proficiency in one or both of Canada's official languages which are English and French.

Permanent residency can be obtained within 6 months which is one of the most efficient processing times. Applicants can also get additional points if they get a qualifying job offer or by an ongoing Canadian employment.
